What are Eyelash Extensions?
Eyelash Extensions are made from mink/synthetic hair and are used to enhance the thickness, length, curliness and fullness of your natural lashes.
How long do Eyelash Extensions last?
Eyelash Extensions can last 6-8 weeks with proper aftercare and will remain on your natural lashes until they naturally fall out, as all lashes do. If looked after Extensions will last a full growth cycle of your natural eyelashes which varies between each person but can be maintained by having regular infills every 2-3 weeks.
Do Eyelash Extensions damage your natural lashes?
No. If looked after correctly, eyelash extensions will not damage your natural lashes as long as they have been put on correctly by an accredited eyelash technician and a suitable length/thickness of false eyelash has been used that your natural lash can support. They will not ruin the health of your natural lashes and are completely safe. Eyelashes naturally shed after 6-8 weeks and new ones grow in their place so your Extensions will fall out naturally with the natural lash as it sheds.
Can you still wear mascara?
Most mascara contains oil which will shorten the life of your eyelash extensions if used as it affects the glue used to bond them to your natural lashes. You can still wear oil free mascara or mascara specifically made for use with extensions if you still feel you need to.
But with eyelash extensions you will normally not feel the need to!
Can you get your lashes wet/swim with lashes on?
Yes. After a 48 hour period from them being applied, once the glue has properly dried… it is completely fine to get your eyelashes wet/submerge them in water.
When you do get them wet do not dry them or rub them with a towel – either leave them to dry naturally or blow dry them lightly under a low heat and give them a brush to fluff them up again.
How do you remove Eyelash Extensions?
If you change your mind or wish to remove your eyelashes, this can be done easily by applying a special debonding solution used by your eyelash technician which is safe and will cause no damage to your natural lashes.
Please do not try to pick them/pull them off as this will damage your natural lashes and can leave gaps in your natural lash line.
How do you clean your Eyelash Extensions?
Eyelashes should be cleaned regularly to keep them free from any oil or dirt that can build up on your natural lash line. This can be done by using a cotton swab and oil free make up remover like Micellar water or baby shampoo.
